This is an in-depth The Trademark Company Review that helps you decide if this service is worth it or not!
If you are trying to start a new business, chances are you already know about The Trademark Company but are unsure whether they are the best option for you.
In this review, you will hear all you need to know about this trademark brand, including how they work, payment, best alternatives, etc.
Let’s get started!
What is The Trademark Company and Is it Legit?
Based in the U.S., The Trademark Company is a trademark company that is dedicated to helping small businesses trademark their brand. Basically, what this company does for you is help you register and protect your trademark in the long run.
Trademarking your mark means you securing your logo, product design, tagline, or brand name before someone comes out of the blue and screams that he had it first and labels you a copycat.
Telling The Trademark Company about your trademark may be the easiest part, but a tough decision may arise when choosing a payment package. Like almost all trademark companies out there, The Trademark Company’s payment plans feature a number of perks that can influence how your trademark can be registered.
Furthermore, The Trademark Company claims to stand ahead of the pack. They promise to make complicated legal documents easy, offer an upfront flat rate, and assign you an account manager to answer all your questions and put you through the trademarking process.
But are these claims true?
Of course, The Trademark Company is legit, to some extent. Sure, they will do exactly what they say on their website, but not all of the important parts, especially the legal stuff, which are super important.
In that light, The Trademark Company will not offer you legal protection. Well, probably because they don’t have a legal team. This means that if you are stuck in a legal dilemma, you might be left alone to fend for yourself, pay them extra bucks to take out of the mess, or hire an attorney which would cost you a lot of money.
This is already a no-no for me because you will surely need legal assistance and guide at some point before or after your trademark registration.
How Does The Trademark Company Work?
For you to successfully get your trademark registered, The Trademark Company has set out three simple steps to follow. And they are:
- Introduce your Trademark
- Pick a Suitable Plan
- Application Starts Processing
1. Introduce your Trademark
For The Trademark Company, introducing your trademark is the first step to getting your trademark registered. In this stage, The Trademark Company will need you to tell them what you are trying to trademark as your brand.
Remember, a trademark could be a tagline, design color or shape, logo, or brand name. Whichever one it is, you should do a great job at describing it. Don’t worry, you will be told if the trademark you have chosen will stand a chance to be approved.
If you don’t know where to start, you can find helpful information on the official website. You can head over to The Trademark Company’s website and locate their phone number or the “contact us” page and reach out to them about registering your trademark.
2. Pick a Suitable Plan
After introducing your trademark to The Trademark Company, the next step in the process is picking a suitable plan.
Just like every other trademarking company out there, The Trademark Company also offers trademark plans. These plans offer you a bunch of limited perks that help get your trademark registered and secured in the long run.
Just so you keep in mind, whatever plan you pick will determine the service you get from The Trademark Company. Of course, you can always pick a cheap plan if you are on a tight budget. But have a rethink if what you will be losing is necessary.
3. Application Starts Processing
If you are convinced about your plan, the next thing would be kicking off your trademark application process. In this phase, you should go over your submitted information and make changes where necessary.
For every trademark company, the application process will only kick off after payment is made.
Once your application is filed at the trademark office, it could take up to 12 to 18 months to be processed. Meanwhile, it is advisable to keep your head up for rejections due to legal reasons. And if this should happen, you are in for a lot more expenses.
How Much Does The Trademark Company Cost?
The Trademark Company offers two payment plans with a $300 difference. Both plans pack in perks that are essential to making the process of registering your mark possible.
However, just like it has always been, the higher plan features a few more perks. The two plans offered by The Trademark Company are:
- Gold package
- Platinum package
1. Gold Package
The Trademark Company’s Gold package is the basic package offered. This package goes for $199 and it is seen as the cost-effective, fastest, and best package.
2. Platinum Package
The Platinum package, for The Trademark Company, is a costly package. It starts from $499 and it is targeted at people who want to also sell on Amazon.com. To me, the only additional perk of this plan is that TTC will provide you with Status Report on your registration.
Whichever package you go with, The Trademark Company will help you search to see if your mark is available to be registered. They also promise to start working on your application the same day while they send you reports about the progress of your trademark registration.
On both packages, The Trademark Company will offer you LLC if you need it, and a digital certificate in the end. Plus, they will be on the lookout for anyone who tries to infringe on your trademark—they will be doing this for life!
The Trademark Company Pros & Cons

Why I Don’t Recommend The Trademark Company & Alternative
In this section of The Trademark Company, I will address some of the reasons I think The Trademark Company isn’t a good option for anyone serious about their brand.
The Trademark Company could be all bells and whistles and go on to rave about fast services and cheap prices, but they still fall short. The things they fail to do are exactly the main reason I don’t recommend The Trademark Company.
1. No Legal Protection
This is usually the first thing I check for whenever a trademark company pops its head out and screams out for clients. Like, who wouldn’t want to be legally covered or educated properly about legal subjects in case things go south?
Okay, let’s not go too far. In the preparatory stage, The Trademark Company never mentioned that your application will be scanned by a legal team and corrections will be reverted to you.
Even though they promise to keep an eye out for people who infringe on your trademark, they might never be able to help you when you mistakenly infringe on someone else’s. Well, unless you pay some extra money which could start from $199 all the way past $499.
2. No Dedicated Legal Team
It’s sweet when you have no worries about your trademark getting an office action. This is because you trust that your trademarking company has a legal team to help you fix any issues in time.
Some trademarking companies infuse the cost of legal actions in their packages to encourage a one-time payment—which totally sits well with me. On the other hand, having a separate office action billing can be scary, especially when involving an attorney makes the cost skyrocket to $499 and above.
Let’s say you don’t complain about the extra cost. What about the time it might take to get a dedicated attorney?
3. Result not Guaranteed
Nothing hurt the most like an outright comment from The Trademark Company saying that your trademark was rejected for some reasons you don’t understand.
This could happen regardless of the package you pay for. The reason is simply that The Trademark Company isn’t working with a set of experts that knows the ins and outs of trademarking a brand.
They are only helping you do the normal procedure, which is submitting your trademark application to USPTO. Once they can’t get it approved on the first attempt, they will likely not succeed with it again.
Fortunately, there are many trademark brands that have over a 99% success rate and offer a one-time payment for their services. I will introduce you to one of the best ones soon.
4. You Don’t Work with an Attorney
Unlike some trademarking companies out there, The Trademark Company will not set you up with an attorney. Instead, you will be set up with an account manager.
Having a dedicated account manager you can speak to sounds comforting. But on the other hand, the taught of having an attorney helping you in your trademark registration process just seems to be a better option.
Although accounts managers can be knowledgeable enough to get your trademark registered in time. But the aid of an attorney just helps you scale through legal issues quickly which in turn helps you evade rejection.
For The Trademark Company, attorneys are not featured at the get-go of the trademarking process (which could have made things a little easier from the start). Instead, they are beckoned on when you need an office action or some legal pull-through.
And of course, you have to pay an additional cost, making understanding what to pay for and what not to pay for a little complicated for newbies. In a simple term, you will likely be paying more than you budgeted.
What is the Best The Trademark Company Alternative?
I think it’s pretty clear that if you are serious about your business, you need more than what The Trademark Company has to offer. And if you need a better alternative that’s solid in areas they are lacking, I highly recommend Trademark Factory.
Trademark Factory’s mission is to help growth-minded entrepreneurs build amazing brands. Thing is, you can’t build an amazing brand unless you OWN the brand you’re building. And the only way to own your brand is to trademark it.
And if you are wondering why Trademark Factory is worth checking out, here are a few reasons:
1. All-Inclusive Service
There is a quote from Charles Manson that says, “If you are going to do something, do it well. And leave something witchy.” And I strongly believe Trademark Factory follows this wholeheartedly.
Trademark Factory’s legal team and advisors take care of all your trademark processes. Their experienced attorneys and trademark agents won’t let you break a sweat or worry about anything. You will only be contacted when necessary for some required information or document.
After sharing the necessary information with the team, they go on to draft and file your application. All necessary legal requirements will be met for your trademark to be registered.
To me, this is what makes them unique. Once you choose to work with them, it’s a 100% done-for-you service. Just sit back and watch your brand get trademarked without paying any additional fee.
To be clear, you will get all the services with LegalZoom trademark service The Trademark Company offers with Trademark Factory but with only a one-time fee. No recurring payment!
2. One Flat Fee
One thing that makes Trademark Factory stand out is its one flat fee. Other trademark firms will likely charge you per hour and demand another payment if an objection is raised against your application or further actions need to be taken by them.
But with Trademark Factory, you only need to make a one-time payment, which covers the cost of the Trademarking process from start to finish. Even if your brand trademarking process requires a full legal team, you won’t be charged an hourly rate.
Trademark Factory does not incur hidden costs or other demands for payment. No matter how many objections are raised against your application, additional payment will not be incurred.
For the records, and depending on the plan you paid for, your one-time fee should include a comprehensive trademark search, application filing, response to all office actions, etc.
Most of the services you will get with one payment on Trademark Factory are charged individually or hourly by other trademark firms.
3. Guaranteed Results
Trademark Factory has a 99.3% success rate. This means that there is a high chance that your brand will be trademarked. But if things should swing sideways, they follow a 100% money-back guarantee policy.
So, if you don’t get what you paid Trademark Factory for, you will get a full refund even after the rigorous process the legal team has gone through.
The refund could come in two ways. You can get a full refund before filing. This means if Trademark Factory identifies any problem with trademarking your brand after you already paid, you will get a 100% refund Or they keep searching until they help you find a brand you can own.
They also offer a full refund after filing. So after their comprehensive search, if they find your brand suitable for trademarking and they filed it but get disapproved by the Trademarks office, you get your full refund, regardless of how many office actions they have responded to.
And because they have been in operation for over 9 years, and filled 2885 trademarks with over 99 success rates, you can be rest assured they will deliver on their promises.
4. Large Team
Another reason to trust Trademark Factory is the fact that they have a huge team. They are currently over 30 team members working in this firm, with each proving their expertise in different areas.
This means you will get the right specialist to work on different aspects of your brand trademarking process. This is why Trademark Factory can handle all the activities themselves; because they have a complete team.
5. Free Call with a Specialist
Finally, unlike many trademark firms that are only after your money, Trademark Factory will require to know more about your business before they decide you are a great fit for them.
You will first need to request a free call with one of their advisors (click here to request the call), who will try to understand your business goal and then recommend the best package for you. This free consultation will also shed more light on certain things you don’t know about your business model.
This is completely risk-free, so I see no reason why you won’t request a free call now. (click here to request the call now) or read an in-depth Trademark Factory Review here to know how they work.
Conclusion on The Trademark Company Review
Even though this is supposed to be The Trademark Company review, I can’t help but recommend Trademark Factory to you. I mean, why should you pay for a service with an unguaranteed result?
This is why I recommend Trademark Factory over The Trademark Company since the former not only help you register your trademark, but they also provide you with a full legal team that defends your trademark when the need arises.
